Gabrielle (Popowitz) VanAlstine

My title is currently Human Resources and Recruiting Strategies

Rep, epVerify Consultant.

I work with Employment Plus, the 11th fastest growing privately owned

staffing firm in the nation. I am involved with internal recruiting,

strategic HR, writing policies and implementing procedures, as well as

spearheading epVerify, a division of Employment Plus that offers

screenings, testing, and assessments.

I believe that being an English major at SVC polished my communication

skills (obviously), creativity, and resourcefulness...all traits that

helped me obtain a successful career that I love.

Memories/Stories-- The faculty of the English Dept at SVC is second to

none. Father Wulfstan was the celebrant at my wedding, and awed the

intellectuals of my bridal party with his Shakespearean and Tolkien

knowledge. My favorite memories are: Sir Richard of Wissolik finding

the Holy Grail (a coffee cup) in Fr. Wulfstan's Arthurian Literature

course, as well as the many pop culture conversations in Intermediate

Writing, thanks to my former advisor, Dr. Snyder (as well as Beyonce).

I commend the students who are putting this together! A fantastic idea!
